too much and too many...

so we went to our second prenatal class on thursday night...and the best way i could describe it is there was "too much and too many" of several things:

1. too many diagrams
2. too much personal info shared by the instructor and students in the class (i wanted to yell "TMI!" many times)
3. too many awkward silences...where i felt like i should either get up and leave or burst out laughing...both of which would have been really inappropriate
4. too much talk about how pushing in labor resembles having a large bowel movement. yeah.
5. too many tools used for "demonstration" and "visual aids"
6. too many videos. enough said.
7. too many women on the videos who looked like they were going to die rather than give birth.
8. too many times to get up and go to the bathroom. luckily, i was informed by debbie, our instructor, that this is normal. i apparently suffer from a TWB at this stage of pregnancy: a teenie weenie bladder. thanks, debbie.

look forward to more updates next week. i know the anticipation is killing you as much as it is killing me.

ha ha ha ... I love those classes. You learn so much--things that you wanted to know and things that you know you could do better without knowing. I'm eagerly waiting to hear about next weeks class ;)

Good for you to go to those classes. Are you planning on going natural or does your doctor recommend you take them? I never did and I don't know if it was better or not. I guess the job gets done either way. Good luck with next week. :)

if it makes you feel any better, having just gone through 'the pain,' I think its much easier to be the one laboring than the one watching. Those videos were way scary. And I have no idea how I was to watch, but it wasn't near as scary being in the driver's seat. :) And for me, it didn't really feel like huge bowel movement...call me crazy...

You're going to do great. You're one tough cookie, you've survived a year of 5 year olds, a week of girls camp, and almost 9 months of pregnancy just in the time I've known you! I'd take a day of labor over all those things. Any time you need a pep talk give me a call. :)

So cute comic! Its different for everyone, sometimes you dont want to hear others horror stories! You will survive...Even though at the time you think you might not!

you're so funny... I've never experienced any of that so I have no idea but I know you'll be great. The previews for "baby mama" crack me up... especially the part where she asks smething about just spraying some pam down there before the baby comes out- I have no idea, but that reminds me of you... I think just because it's cute and funny and lightens up a scary or awkward situation. I got the cute diaper invite today- I'm so excited that the timing lines up so well! Love ya girl!

Ahhh, it all seems TMI right now, but just wait a month or so and then NOTHING will seem TMI to you anymore because far more people than you ever thought possible will have seen you naked. Just embrace it sister.

Wow - I think we actually had the same instructor that you have now.... I actually remember the TWB acronym, believe it or not, unless TWB is a term that many prenatal instructors go around using.... :-) Isn't it amazing the useless facts that my brain chooses to remember?

Don't watch those videos. I still can't stand to watch births on tv or anywhere and definitely take the pain killers. I've done it with and without and with is way better than without. This is not the dark ages anymore.
