Ellie singing "I'm trying to be like Jesus"

Ellie has always loved to sing.
and since she was a little teenie squirt, she has impressed me with her immaculate memory (or interesting interpretations) of lyrics to songs.
before saying buh-bye to Gammy on the phone tonight, she asked if Ellie would sing "i'm trying to be like Jesus" for her.
Ellie proceeded to sing the entire song for Gammy. as in both verses.
my heart melted.
and so then i had to video her doing it a second time, because it was so sweet.

there are few things as pure and precious as a child singing "i'm tyring to be like Jesus."

xoxo

Not sure why, but it posted twice, now it looks all suspicious that "the author removed the post". Wierd.

um, that was so precious. but it squashed my dreams that kate will ever have singing talent. i thought "maybe kate's still too young to sing on pitch" haha. i have also never heard kate sing 2 full verses of a song. funny how every kid has their special talents. ellie is amazing!

oh and your comment at the end of the scotty commentary cracked me up: "is that weird coming from a 20 something year old mom?" haha. i will be way more on the scotty wagon in a decade when his voice fits his age!

hi, i'm amberly, raeann hurst's daughter. i regularly look at your blog, i hope you aren't creeped out. this is the cutest thing i have ever seen. i'm going to school to be a music teacher, this video just gave me all sorts of desires to teach in elementary school. gah, kids are the best. yours are darling. also, yeah, she's way talented. if you got her in voice lessons early to see if she likes it, you could put her WAY ahead of other people (when i say early, really that means like 12). just a thought! :)

Holy crap! When did Ellie get so big and smart and talented? I can't believe she can remember all of that. she has such a sweet pretty voice too. ahhhhhhhhhh cute. Wish you were going to Seattle with me. When are you guys going to come down to St. George with us? We could go to Vegas and shop.... :)
