the eye of the tiger

went to the oakland zoo today.
we had a b.l.a.s.t.

ellie was a little freaked out by how close the tiger kept getting to us. she had reason to be a little freaked since tigers in northern california have been known to kill...

still, we loved it so much that we became season pass holders. in fact, i bought a pass that allows me to bring any other person with me on any day. so, if you're in the bay area and would like to see some animals locked up in cages for free, give me a ring. i'd be happy to hook you up.

not convinced? they even have a cute little petting zoo. i think that was ellie's favorite. she loved saying "baaaa" and petting the lil lambies.

see, now i know you're dying to come visit me and the oakland animals.
*is it obvious that i need some friends?*

xoxo

Oh! I am in! When I come.... someday in the near future I hope... I am down for Baby Ellie, the petting zoo and the animals in cages. No... I prefer to see them in the wild, but that really would freak Ellie out! So glad you enjoyed the package. I am sure she will be a doll no matter what you put on her. Hugs and Kisses!
and tickles for Ellie.

I am from Walnut Creek! You must be close by my home town. Small world! I am impressed by the Queen's grasp of the alphabet! Where did you find those letters?

My name is Ashley and I am a blog-stalkerholic. (Now, that was just creepy...) I found your blog through Denaea's who I (clear throat) stalked for a while as well... I sound like a real winner eh? Anyways, your blog is so fun to read! Mine is pretty boring compared to yours, but if you ever want to stalk me you can email me your email. (championbanners@gmail.com)

Marce, I have to tell you-- I've been trying to teach Savanna her letters for quite some time now and could never interest her in them hardly at all. She had zero percent confidence in herself that these were actually things she could learn. Well, I showed her the video of little 14-month-old Ellie tonight saying her letters and she wanted to watch it over and over....and over again. Tonight when I put her to bed, I pulled out her alphabet book and started practicing her letters with her again, and after rolling 14 perfect letters off her tongue, I stopped, in complete shock, to ask her how on earth she was doing this. She said, "I'm just thinking of that little girl on the movie mom. If she can do it, than I can too!"
Savanna repeated every letter in the entire alphabet to me tonight and recognized each of them by name.
The things you do on this blog have a far-reaching effect on more people than you probably realize. Thank you so much! I'm smiling tonight :)
