confessions of a crazy lady part III

you know the drill........so here we go again

1. tweezing is at the top of my list of least favorite things about being a woman (yes, i have a list. i love lists, remember?). in fact, i haven't tweezed my eyebrows since school let out in june. AH! i know, that's terrible. and for all of you uber observant ladies -- yes, i know that my eyebrows are bushy. and overgrown. and i should probably fix that instead of blogging right now. but i'm not going to do that. ohhh the sweet pain of tweezing. maybe tomorrow?

1a. while i'm on the hygeine subject.........i haven't clipped E's little fingernails since i last tweezed. GASP! yeah, she basically has little claws right now. what a terrible mother i am. but i hate how she twists and yanks her hands away from me, which inevitably makes me miss her nails, and which leads to making her little fingers bleed. such a dilemma. maybe i'll do that when she wakes up in the morning...

2. i am an ellen degeneres fan. and a big one at that. i think she is hilarious. she can make me laugh even if i am fuming mad and even if i am bluesy sad. one time, a few summers ago, some friends and i got to see her in burbanks for her "ellen in the park" show...and i got selected to play musical chairs. i won a coffee maker. and i also got to sit right next to ellen when she came and danced with us. and i also got to sit front row when kanye west sang "i aint sayin' she a gold digga." it was all very thrilling...and i almost felt like a celebrity. almost. and so, i loved seeing her on So You Think You Can Dance this week.

3. when i was little, i wanted to be dorothy. i think i was dorothy for like 5 consecutive halloweens...and then i took a break from being dorothy and was so dissatisfied that i decided to be dorothy again. i used to watch the wizard of oz over and over and over again. my brother hated it. i remember one time he asked me, "doesn't the witch scare you? she's scawwwwwy" (he was like 3 or 4). yes, the witch was scary- but dorothy was my hero so much that i just didn't care. some other interesting trivia is that my favorite song is somewhere over the rainbow, and one of my favorite phrases is there's no place like home. i guess i'm just a wizard of oz junkie.

{photographic proof of my dorothyness obsessions}

i have lots of other things that i considered adding to this confession list...but to save myself from too much embarrassment, and with the hopes that i'll keep you wanting more, i will now sign off..........

as ellie says, night night.

xoxo

I'm right there with you on most of those confessions. I hate tweezing my brows and I always wait till I look like a man before I tweeze. James is usually walking around with claws. The darn things grow so fast. He doesn't even put up a fight when I cut them and I still wait to clip them(I think the scissor nail clippers are much easier then the other ones. That's if you don't already use them). And last I think Ellen is so FUNNY! I'm a fan as well. I love all of her cool give aways. Keep the confessions coming.

love it marci! tweezing does stink... and i HATE clipping mack's nails.. it makes me cry when i make her cry if i miss and make her bleed. Also, i too love ellen and so does my husband.. we just so wish she liked boys:) but she is terribly hilarious and we even record her shows so we don't miss them.

A month or two ago I was changing Finn's diaper and amidst his babbling he sang "somewhere over da baybow" It made me so happy! Now he sings along to lots of the songs that I put him to bed with -- so great. Also, I hate clipping Finn's nails...I totally clipped his fingers a few times when he was a baby.

I am so jealous you got to be on Ellen. I would LOVE to go. And I saw that episode...I wish I would've recognized you.

AND...have you seen Wicked? If you love the Wizard of Oz you'll really like Wicked. :)

I hate tweezing too- such a pain.

And that's awesome you saw Ellen, and won a coffee maker... haha of all things you could win! :)

And Wizard of Oz- oh I love that too, I was Dorothy a few times as well. Love it!

Ellen is the greatest. She seriously improves my day when I get to watch.

When we clip nails, we raise the child's hand above their head, so they don't really watch it, then distract them in front with a toy or a show they really like. Somehow, when they're not looking at the clippers, they are so much better.

Ok, I must be a weirdo because I love tweezing. Yes, I certainly thinks that qualifies me as a weirdo. I don't go a day without it....I even tweeze Jon so he doesn't get a unibrow. How does he tolerate me? Marci, as always love the confessions!

That picture of you is hilarious. And your profile = your daughter's. Love it.

Yes, I still have dhs movies left over - though I admit they are who-know's-where at my mom's house. I'll be home for Christmas and will look for one then.

Well... at least you are NOT an " over-tweezer... which I think is worse! ( I am getting a mental picture of what you would look like with penciled in eyebrows)
You were an adorable Dorothy.
MIMI followed in your footsteps. Actually she wanted to be the witch and I would not let her because we had the Dorothy costume already.
Remember me making the scary witch voice and face? Classic.
Thanks for taking care of the house for us while we were on vacation. After a week in Paradise... is good to say: There is NO place like HOME!". It was great to see your faces welcoming us back.
xoxoxo

I have never understood girls who are obsessed with tweezing it hurts! I dread doing it. Love Ellen too, she makes me laugh & laugh. Although you have a pretty sweet story.
